You may behave a certain way to someone and not even realize it. Your team may not respond to your leadership style because of how you communicate and approach them. Are you confused about how to talk about removing bias and building unity in your team? It can be difficult to say the right things and lead a team of diverse people.
Because your biases can get in the way of how you behave toward others, sometimes without you even knowing it. Implicit bias is an unconscious association, belief, or attitude toward any social group. Due to implicit biases, people may often attribute certain qualities or characteristics to all members of a particular group, a phenomenon known as stereotyping. It is important to remember that implicit biases operate almost entirely unconsciously. While explicit biases and prejudices are intentional and controllable, implicit biases are less so.
In this course, you will learn how to:
- Recognize your Bias Beast (What is a bias Beast?)
- Actions to Tame the Beast.
- How to Manage Conflicts and Build Unity.
- How to ensure your biases are not getting in the way of your leadership.
